Pink Lily, a rapidly growing online women’s fashion retailer, experienced explosive growth over a decade, scaling from a home operation to a 200,000 ft2 facility. Data fragmentation prevents actionable insights

As Pink Lily adopted more applications, business leaders needed reports combining data sources to analyze and optimize the return on ad spend. This fragmentation created significant operational bottlenecks:

  • No Unified View: Consolidating data from multiple sources into Snowflake for reliable reporting was critical but difficult.
  • Manual Processes: Employees manually downloaded and combined reports from each application — a slow and error-prone process.

This inability to easily integrate combined data prevented the optimization of ad spend and made it difficult to make agile, data-informed decisions. “[The problem] we ran into is, you’ve got all of these apps, and then you have to download the information, and then you have to put it in something to combine all of it?” says Chad Gilleland, IT Manager for Pink Lily. “It was like, this is tedious work. It’s manual and inefficient, and there’s a lot of room for error.“

Transforming data analytics with Precog

Recognizing the need for centralized data, Pink Lily sought a solution to consolidate data from all sources into Snowflake for unified analytics. The search hit a critical roadblock when ShipHero, their warehouse management system (WMS), updated its API from REST to GraphQL. This change proved insurmountable for other vendors evaluated.
